GRANT INFORMATION

The Eden Training Grant is designed to support both established and emerging businesses in the demolition industry to achieve compliance with the latest Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations. Recognizing the significant regulatory shifts approaching in 2025, this grant program offers financial assistance to ensure all qualifying demolition companies can access necessary training programs. The courses covered by the grant include CPCCWHS2001 and CPCCDE3016 (Identify hazards on demolition sites and apply risk management strategies), each critical for meeting the updated standards under WHS Regulation Update 458. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To qualify for the Eden Training Grant, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • NSW Business Registration: Applicants must be registered businesses operating within NSW, holding a valid Australian Business Number (ABN) and Workcover insurance for employees.
  • Demolition Industry Engagement: Eligible businesses must actively participate in demolition-related work. This includes a wide range of activities, such as:
    • Strip-out Services: Businesses specializing in the removal of non-structural components of buildings.
    • Excavation Services: Companies engaged in preparatory site excavation for demolition projects.
    • Civil Contracting: Contractors involved in foundational work for demolition projects.
    • Small, Unlicensed Demolition Contractors: Unlicensed yet established businesses focused on minor demolition tasks.
    • SME Licensed Demolition Contractors: Small to medium-sized enterprises holding licenses in demolition work.

This eligibility framework ensures that grants are directed towards businesses integral to the NSW demolition industry, supporting compliance across a spectrum of company sizes and specializations.

 

PROGRAM TARGET

The Eden Training Grant aims to train and certify 1,000 workers across Sydney, NSW, by April 2025. The grant’s target demographic emphasizes inclusive training support for disadvantaged and minority groups who aspire to careers in demolition but face financial or logistical barriers to acquiring essential skills. This initiative reflects Eden LMS’s commitment to fostering a safe, compliant, and diverse workforce within the demolition sector.

 

PROGRAM SNAPSHOT

GRANT TYPES AND DESCRIPTIONS

  1. General Grant for CPCCDE3016 and CPCCDE2001:

    Provides essential support for baseline demolition training under the AS 2601 standard. Covering units CPCCDE3016 and CPCCDE2001, it enables businesses to meet mandatory qualifications for safe, compliant demolition operations.

  2. For Fully Licensed Trades & Full Qualifications:

    Designed for organizations and individuals committed to achieving full licensure in demolition trades, providing financial resources to meet high industry standards.

  3. Ready to Work Grant:

    Supports employers in hiring Indigenous workers and individuals from disadvantaged minority groups, fostering diverse and equitable employment opportunities in the demolition industry.

 

GRANT PRIORITIES

Eden LMS’s special grants align with NSW Government’s strategic goals, prioritizing grants that address workforce diversity, equitable training, and job readiness. Our primary grant priorities are:

  1. Support for Disadvantaged and Minority Groups

    Grants prioritize employers who hire and train individuals from underrepresented groups. Eden LMS focuses on funding programs that:

    • Provide these groups with foundational demolition skills.
    • Deliver digital literacy training for aging and emerging workers, preparing them for technology-integrated roles.
  2. Apprenticeships and Traineeships

    These grants encourage employers to invest in structured apprenticeship and traineeship programs within their operations, promoting skill development and workforce growth.

  3. Rural Access and Equity in Training for Employability Skills

    Designed for regional employers, this program provides accessible, certified training options to rural workers and addresses specific labor demands in rural areas.

  4. Programs Linked to Employment Opportunities

    Emphasis is placed on training programs with direct employment pathways. We prioritize workforce development grants encouraging employers to retain trained staff and support career progression.

 

HOW TO APPLY

To apply for the Eden Training Grant, please follow these steps:

  1. Confirm Eligibility: Verify your business is registered in NSW with an active ABN and Workcover. Ensure engagement in demolition-related work.
  2. Prepare Required Documentation: Gather all necessary documentation, including ABN verification, Workcover, a project plan, and financial records for co-contribution eligibility.
  3. Complete the Application Form: Fill out the form provided or apply online, ensuring that your submission aligns with WHS Regulation Update 458 requirements.
  4. Submit Co-Contribution Payment: A co-contribution of $11,500 (GST exempt) is required. Approved applicants will receive at least double (equal to) their input. i. $11,500 contribution recieves $23,000 Training Deployed. Budget is not 
  5. Finalize and Submit Application: Submit the application by 4:00 PM AEST (Brisbane), December 3, 2024.
  6. Confirmation and Next Steps: Once submitted, applicants will receive a confirmation email. Applications are reviewed weekly, with results and funding information provided promptly.

 

EARLY CLOSURE OF PROGRAM

Applications are reviewed and awarded weekly. Eden LMS reserves the right to close the program to new applicants at any time.

3. NSW WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT – SKILLS AND EMPLOYMENT INITIATIVES

Please note that this is a private grant and is not government funded. Employers seeking continued assistance may wish to assess the following. 4. PM2 TRAINING SERVICES – REGISTERED TRAINING ORGANIZATION (RTO) INFORMATION

The Issuing RTO for this grant program is also known as PM2 Pty Ltd trading as Onshift Education and is accredited to deliver vocational education and training all programs for the Eden Training Grant program.
